Augsburg - Gögginger Frühlingsfest

In addition to the marquee of the Binswanger & Kempter families, the Gögginger Frühlingsfest also features a number of carousels and stalls. The festival was first organised in 1969: Originally a strong beer festival to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the then still independent municipality of Göggingen, the spring festival is now an integral part of the Augsburg events calendar. Augsburg's mayor traditionally opens the folk festival season with the tapping of the barrel in Göggingen.
