Sint-Truiden (BE) - Augustuskermis

The Augustuskermis in Sint-Truiden is the city's largest and most traditional folk festival and an annual highlight that attracts thousands of visitors.

The fair transforms the entire city centre into a huge open-air amusement park.

- Size and attractions: The Augustuskermis is known for its considerable size and variety. With over 60 showmen's businesses, it offers a wide range of entertainment. Adrenaline junkies will get their money's worth on fast-paced rides, while families can enjoy classic carousels and trains. The offer is complemented by numerous game and lottery booths as well as stalls selling sweets and snacks.

The Augustuskermis programme offers some special highlights that distinguish the festival from other events:

- Low-stimulus fair: Often on Saturday morning, there is a ‘low-stimulus fair’ where light and sound effects are muted to make the visit more pleasant for people with sensory sensitivities.

- Family day: The last day of the fair, Wednesday, is traditionally family day. On this day, there are significantly reduced prices at most rides and stalls, which is a popular way for families to end the fair.
