About the Park
Pairi Daiza, originally founded and opened in 1994 under the name Paradisio, is the most visited zoo in Belgium with over 2 million visitors a year. With a huge variety of over 600 animal species and over 7,000 animals, it offers its visitors an incredibly diverse range of over 70 hectares. It is one of the few zoos in Europe to present giant pandas. The zoo is divided into 8 worlds, each with a thematic focus.
While you may encounter wombats in the Cap Austral area, you can see sea creatures such as seals and African penguins in Cambron-sur-Mer and water buffalo and Indian elephants in Le Royaume de Ganesha.
The zoo is located approximately 45 km or 1 hour's drive southeast of Brussels and approximately 18 km north-northeast of Mons.
