Kelmis / La Calamine (BE) - Kelmiser Kirmes

The fair in Kelmis is much more than just a folk festival; it is a festive event that puts the entire community in a cheerful mood. Every autumn, Kelmis' Galmeiplatz square is transformed into a vibrant centre full of lights and sounds.

As soon as you enter the grounds, you are enveloped by the smell of fresh popcorn and roasted almonds, mixed with the sounds of the rides and the laughter of the visitors. The attractions range from fast-paced, modern rides that thrill adrenaline junkies to classic carousels and shooting galleries that are particularly popular with families. There is something for everyone here.

A special highlight is the official opening, which is heralded on Friday evening with the traditional tapping of the keg. The evening is crowned by spectacular fireworks that bathe the sky above Kelmis in colourful hues and create a magical moment. The fair is not only a place of entertainment, but also an important meeting place that brings the community together and celebrates its traditions.
