About the Park
The Palm Market is Geel's annual funfair. The fair mainly takes place on the market square, the harbour market and the wharf and lasts five days. It starts every year on the Friday before Palm Sunday and lasts until the Tuesday after. On Friday evening at 6.00 pm, the mayor gives a speech and afterwards, when the bells of St Amman's Church ring out, the Palm Fair is officially opened and the Bellemen traditionally parade through the fair with the children. They can take a few free rides on the children's rides. The opening day is rounded off with a fireworks display at around 10 pm in the evening. Tuesday is family day with reduced prices. On Saturday, there will also be a large funfair in Kollegestraat and Diestseweg.
