About the Park
Platypuses are a peculiarity in the animal kingdom, because on the one hand they are mammals, but on the other hand they lay eggs. To save the platypus population in Australia, Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was opened to the public for the first time in 1985. On an area of 35 hectares in Mylor, about 20 kilometres southeast of Adelaide, you will not only find these extraordinary animals, but also koalas, kangaroos and rhinoceroses.
