About the Park
About 220 kilometres south of Perth lies the tranquil little town of Busselton with just 25,000 inhabitants. Busselton is a popular tourist destination with a huge long special feature: an approximately 2-kilometre-long wooden jetty dating from 1853 to 1865. Since 2003, the Underwater Observatory has been located at the end of the jetty, which provides insights into the underwater world, allowing visitors to look down to the 9-metre-deep bottom. Since here on the west coast of Australia a current coming from the north ensures warm water temperatures, countless tropical fish and other marine life can be observed on the wooden piles of the Busselton Jetty.
