About the Park
Since 1979, Trowunna Wildlife Park has existed in Mole Creek, about 40 minutes south of Devonport, 45 minutes west of Launceston and 75 minutes east of Cradle Mountain. Trowunna covers an area of 85 hectares and is characterised by its natural vegetation with huge eucalyptus trees and acacias. Due to the large area, kangaroos, wallabies, potoroos and wombats roam the grounds. Bird species that visitors can see include hawks, falcons, blue wrens and rosellas. Wildlife that can be seen by visitors here include quolls, Tasmanian devils, spotted tailed pouch martens and bats, but these are mainly seen at night. With daily interactive tours included in the entrance fee, this facility rounds out its offerings.
