About the Park
Between the two cities of Wollongong and Sydney, just off Helensburgh on the east coast of the Australian continent lies Symbio Wildlife Park. Conveniently located at the top of the Illawarra escarpment, just minutes from Stanwell Park Beach, the world-famous Royal National Park, visitors have a majestic 180-degree view of the Pacific Ocean. First opened in 1975, it was originally home to native Australian wildlife. Over time, it expanded its offerings to the point that it has received international attention and won several awards. Visitors are able to interact with numerous animals: they can cuddle koalas or feed kangaroos. But also red pandas, calicoes or monkeys are kept on a total area of 16ha.
