About the Park
Since 1974, Rainforestation Nature Park has been located just over 20 kilometres north of the Australian city of Cairns. Originally established as an orange orchard under a different name, it was converted into the Nature Park in 1976 and opened to tourists. However, it was not renamed until 1989, and in 1996 the Koala and Wildlife Park was opened, featuring a number of Australian wild animals. The park offers several experiences in one place - the Koala & Wildlife Park, the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience and the Army Duck Rainforest Tours. The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience offers an authentic insight into Australian Aboriginal culture. This unique smorgasbord of culture was created in collaboration with tribal elders and offers an educational insight into all aspects of Indigenous culture. This unique tourist attraction is located on 100 hectares of rainforest and allows close-up views of koalas, wombats, saltwater and freshwater crocodiles.
