Moonlit Sanctuary

Moonlit Sanctuary is located about 60 kilometres south of Melbourne, less than two kilometres from Western Port. Since 2001, more than 50 animal species have been shown to visitors on an area of 10 hectares. While all facilities can be visited during the day as in a "normal" zoo, Moonlit Sanctuary offers an unusual feature in the evening hours: Together with a guide, evening walks are undertaken. Visitors come into contact with numerous nocturnal animals and can observe their behaviour. Dingoes, wombats and koalas can be found here, as well as Tasmanian devils and various species of kangaroos.
