About the Park
The largest koala sanctuary in the world is located in Fig Tree Pocket, a suburb of Brisbane. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, as it is called, covers 18ha and has been at its current location since 1927. Originally started with just 2 koalas named Jack and Jill, the animal population has grown to over 60 species; notably echidnas, wombats, Tasmanian devils and kangaroos.
