About the Park
Alice Springs is located quite centrally on the Australian continent. In 2005, Chris 'Brolga' Barns founded the Baby Kangaroo Rescue Centre and subsequently (2011) built The Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs, a 188-hectare sanctuary for rescued and orphaned baby kangaroos. The objective is to educate and encourage people to rescue and care for kangaroos and other wildlife and animals. In 2013, the documentary "Kangaroo Dundee " was made by BBC UK / National Geographic USA and and shown in over 90 countries.
Notes:
The Sanctuary can only be visited as part of a booked guided sunset tour. It should be noted that the 2.5-3 hour tours / guided tours are not available for children under 7 years of age.
