About the Park
When a small and modest collection of animals was opened on 2 hectares in Caversham in 1988, no one expected the zoo to grow much. Only a few years later, the area was doubled and in the course of a move to Whiteman Park, about 25 kilometres north of Perth, in 2003, the size doubled again. Today, Caversham Wildlife Park is home to around 200 animal species and more than 2,000 animals, birds and reptiles, including penguins, kangaroos and koalas.
